The excellent conditions of the village have provided good quality cultures, resulting in one of the country's best olive oils and olives for canning.
In November its time for the collection of olives. Men with sticks shake the branches loaded while women collect the olives. After Collecting the olives, during the months of December and January, it's time to make the oil. In Bemposta worked two traditional presses. The stones to crush the olives were initially pulled by animals.
